Procedure for the Registration of Your Boat and the Obtaining of a Certificate of Fitness
All vessels must be marked with “An Approved number” and Certificate of Fitness” except power driven vessels <15hp, Sailing vessels <9m in length and vessels powered by human power.
1 Deposit an amount of R300-00 into the following bank account:

2 Fax Deposit slip or Internet Banking receipt to 086 635 7593 or to skippers@wahoo-sbc.co.za with
the following details:
· Surname & Initials
· Contact Number
· E-mail address
· City/Town/Dam/Resort/Club
3 We will forward you the following:
· A legal registration number for your boat SRGxxxR
· Details of the Registration number i.e. size of letters and where it needs to be placed on the boat.
· Checklist for the Inspection / Survey of the boat, including the list of safety equipment for the
requested category
4 A date (normally over a weekend) & venue will be faxed/e-mailed where the boat can be surveyed
and the necessary certificate be issued.
Note: It is the owner’s responsibility to ensure that everything on the checklist is inspected prior to the surveyors visit and that all required safety equipment, marked with a permanent marker (given number) and packet out neatly next to the vessel on the day of the survey. Should there be any deficiencies it will be the owner’s responsibility to rectify it before the Boat’s Certificate of Fitness is issued. If a surveyor needed to go to your place then his travelling cost needed to be added on
